They got dirty. It was hot. We had one broken nose. Thankfully, this was the only injury of the season. We had fun celebrating our wins (and just relaxing with friends) at post-game dinners. And in between game birthday celebrations. This season, we went undefeated. 18 games. It is something else to watch these boys play baseball. They are all so amazing and athletic in their own way; but together, as a team, they are unstoppable. This was our last time playing coach pitch. This Fall, we move up to Mustang (kid pitch). We had fun. No doubt about it. Made memories we will never forget. It will be hard to top this season. We won the warm up tournament in Great Neck and headed to SCAA, where we came home with the regional win. We were all so excited to make it to play in High Point, NC. The good thing about it, we all enjoy each other's company, even the parents and grandparents. We're a real family. Josh chose a perfect hotel. It was wide open in the atria, which worked well for the parents. The kids were able to run wild, and the parents could still keep an eye on them. We texted a lot ("I have Cam and we're going to the pool"; "has anyone seen Wes?", "Hayden's on his way up to the room", "Jackson is riding with Dylan", "has anyone seen Kaci's camera?", "they're on the way to the conference room and they're on walkie talkies"). We had a free breakfast buffet each morning. And happy hour cocktails in the evenings. Just a few things I want to remember from the High Point trip, aside from the baseball and the wins, of course: painting the cars before we headed down there; the pool and the hot tub; the boys playing Man Hunt; the heat, and the tents; getting in trouble for the noise (including the adults); playing music to get the boys fired up; Big's Dill Pickle sunflower seeds; Cam hitting 4-5 home runs; the conference room ("what happens in High Point, stays in High Point"); the jello shots; "Stooob"; the text messaging; "Coach No Fun"; East Coast wings for lunch; "Was that a f-ing bat?"; Lauren's selfie in the elevator with the reunion boys; Rusty's crip walk and James's swan dive; Bella's "spa" with the girls and neon yellow hair; "Hi, I'm Scott"; the whip & nae nae (and the Japanese version). On the way to Game #1. When it got too hot.... What the girls did to pass the time... When I tried to take a picture... When I finally got the shot I wanted... What these 2 did the whole weekend... When your coaches (and James) have a great sense of humor... When Cam had scored a home run, and his friend, Jackson, was there to celebrate.... When they were too hard on themselves... When you make an ESPN-worthy catch, and your teammates are proud of you... When you couldn't be happier for these boys but your heart breaks because there's still one person you wish could be there... I look at this picture, and I want nothing more but for these boys to remember this season. Remember these friends. This team. The support from their families. To remember this feeling. This is everything you need right here.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
