I remember how much Cameron loved sharing a room in our old house with his big brother. They had bunk beds and went to bed every night together. Although Cam usually talked and carried on, getting in trouble and driving Jackson crazy until he eventually fell asleep.
He was only 4 when we moved to our new house. We split the bunk beds, and he got his own room. Jackson was so excited. Cameron, however, was not. He was very tearful the first several nights, begging to sleep in Jackson's room. It broke my heart. I had to remind Josh that he had always shared a room with his brother and transitioning to his own room was going to be hard. Eventually, it became the new norm. This past weekend, Jackson moved up to a bigger bed. And, in turn, Cameron got the bunk beds back all to himself. He was more excited than I thought he'd be. And, most surprisingly, he begged for Bella to be able to sleep in his room with him. So, tonight, I consented. Putting the two of them to bed (they wanted to sleep in the top bunk together), Cameron was so excited. "This is like the beach house!" he said with a huge smile on his face. (That kid loves the beach house). Then, only 10 minutes later, he comes back downstairs. "Mom, I can't sleep. Bella is being annoying." Reminded me of another "little" sibling who used to annoy his older sibling at nighttime in that same bunk bed. Karma?

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
