Say it isn't so. Looking back at pictures of our summer. It seemed so long ago that we were in the throes of All Stars and yet the entire summer seemed to fly by. Seriously, we had one of our best summers.
We are in our second week of school. And the boys are not happy about it. I remember when Jack would get so excited about going back to school. This year was different. I think he had a really awesome summer and was just really sad to see it end. It doesn't help that the last week before school starts, we take our annual trip to Hatteras for a week. The boys get to sleep in every day, stay up late, do whatever they want, eat snacks all day, drink sodas, and lay around the beach with their friends. It's heaven in their minds (well, mine too). And then it's not only over, but with the end of vacation comes the end of summer. And they are back to early bedtimes and routines, waking up early, homework, chores. They got it so rough. The second half of our summer was just as great as the first. Maybe better. We got a break from baseball. Football season started at the end of July and the boys conditioned the entire month of August. I have a newfound respect for football players. It ain't no joke. We spent a weekend in July with Honey & Pop Pop as their usual Hatteras house. Bella fell in love the beach. The boys were down there the entire week. I didn't see Cameron for 8 days! It was the longest time I've been away from him. Ever. Bella celebrated her third birthday Frozen style; we had a few cookouts with friends; Josh (finally) started work on the front porch (it's still a work in process). The boys played a lot of football and basketball outdoors, played in the pool (I'm gonna miss that), and rode their bikes. Our vacation could not have went better. Well, maybe a little less wind. But at least we ddn't see a hurricane. It was truly a great vacation and I didn't want it to end. 7 days in Hatteras is not enough. Next year - Disney World.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
