Another fun and memorable trip traveling with Cam's baseball team. We went to Maryland this past weekend and spent 2 nights in a hotel and 2 days playing competitive baseball in the heat. We all arrived on Friday afternoon so we could take in an Orioles game at Camden Yard. Our first time. Bella was very worried about the fireworks. But, she realized, as she usually does, that she worried for nothing and actually enjoyed the fireworks. With her hands covering her ears. I was happy that Jackson came with us this time. Usually, he stays behind for basketball games. But, Josh & I decided that spending time together as a family is more important. I mean, after all, we only have 4 short years left with this kid. {Cam may have ended up crying moments after this picture was taken}. Saturday, our first game wasn't until noon, so we were able to sleep in. We had 2 games and ended up going 1-1. The first game was a tough loss, but we were just getting warmed up. It was HOT. Like 97 degrees hot. Like so hot it was hard to breathe and the sweat was literally dripping off our faces. The boys didn't seem to notice. The field was .... different. It was turf. Which made it even hotter. With a 200 foot fence. Perfect for Home Runs. Cam hit a dinger in the second game. He had a great weekend defensively and made zero errors. With 2 sweet diving plays at third base. Nothing got past him. Did I mention it was hot?? Conner ended game 2 with a walk off home run. Later on, back at the hotel, the boys made quick friends with a girls' 12U softball team that was also staying there. And a competitive game of kickball ensued. They also got some {very loud} time in the pool. And played a modified game of baseball with a tennis ball in the parking lot while the Dads grilled out. Then Jackson got a game of Man Hunt started..... Day 2. We played two really intense games. First game, we won 5-4. In the bottom of the sixth, Colin made a phenomenal catch in left field for the 3rd out to end the game!! It was so sweet to see how happy the boys were for each other. I love this team. Game 2 was another close one. We won 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth (again). This time, we were home and Sean scored the winning run. We had made it to the championship game. I pretty much stopped taking pictures at this point. It was just too hot. We were all getting tired, cranky. And discouraged as the boys lost the final game 9-0. It just wasn't our game. But everyone took it pretty well. I think they were proud of themselves overall. And ready to go home. In the end, they had fun, and more memories were made.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
