Josh and I spent the night in Yorktown. Just us. No kids. Just 24 hours. We had visited Yorktown last fall with the kids. It's a very a historical and picturesque town. We drove through this little strip, called York Beach. It sits right at the base of the Coleman Bridge. I mentioned in passing it would be fun to come back, stay in the little motel there, and eat the Yorktown Pub. So, for our anniversary in May, he surprised me with hotel reservations for this weekend. It couldn't have been more perfect for us. We stayed at the Duke of York Hotel, right across from the beach. We had a perfect little view from our balcony. The hotel was very quaint, and the staff was great. Highly recommend it. There was a ton of people there for the day, but it wasn't overcrowded, and it was very clean. Pretty cobblestone walkways and flowers everywhere. We walked through a few of shops, looking at the locals' artwork and pottery. We did get to eat lunch at the Yorktown Pub. They had Slightly Stoopid pandora radio playing. It was like the perfect spot for Josh. (Note to self : Josh does not like softshell crab. You live and learn.) For dinner, we decided to go back to Yorktown Pub, instead of the fancy schmancy dinner we had originally planned. We had a bunch of appetizers and listed to the classic rock band that was playing that evening. We decided to head back to the beach and camp out for little bit. It was absolutely freezing in the restaurant and we were getting pretty tired (we just can't hang anymore).

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
