This past Saturday, we took a day trip to Durham NC for Jackson's one day basketball tournament. Despite the 3 1/2 hour drive, it ended up being a great day. The Jayhawks went 3-0. Jackson had the team high of 14 points in the final championship game sealing his nickname as Aquaman. Josh & I were so proud. But no one was happier than Jackson. After a rough start, it was all Jackson needed to finish strong. We all left the game on cloud 9. Josh wanted to take us to walk around the campus at Duke, some place he'd never been. It was a perfect day in Durham. Duke is beautiful. We were only there long enough to walk over to Cameron Indoor Gym. We actually got to walk inside the gym and sneak a few pictures. Afterwards, we stayed for dinner and ate at Devines Sports Bar in downtown for wings and beer. Even the campus housing was gorgeous! Of course, we can't go anywhere without that basketball. Jackson had just gotten his basketball taken away for bouncing it on the gym floor. After all, how many kids can say they bounced their ball on Duke's stadium floor? Josh was getting embarrassed by my picture taking. He acts like he's never been anywhere with me before. Jackson might have been getting a little irritated with me, too. But he was flying high after that last game, and it was going to take a lot to bring him down.
After a strong finish, taking home the championship medals, we made a quick trip over to the Duke campus with Jackson and Jared. It was a beautiful day and a great way to end it.
Cam hit a home run over the fence this past weekend. The coach from the opposing team brought him the ball afterwards. It was a pretty sweet moment.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
