This is a must share. One of my most favorite bloggers, Lisa Jo Baker. This is a great read about marriage and parenting in general. And about our love for the men in our lives.
How to tell your wife you love her without words.

Showing off all of my bling I got for my birthday. From the boys. The bracelet and initial "J" ring from Jackson (fits my pinky cause its a size 5). The stunning earrings and "LOVE" necklace from Cameron. Josh took them to Claire's (because Jack wanted to get me jewelry) and let them pick out gifts all by themselves.
I got the idea for a Day in the Life post from Clickinmoms.com (link here). I loved the idea of taking photos and writing about my day in detail so I decided to give it a try. I took some photos with my dslr and others with my phone (just because I always had it handy and it made it a little easier to stick with the task). The day I chose to do it was a Saturday packed full of baseball, which pretty much sums up our life right now so it was very fitting. I had fun doing this, and I think I will do it again soon. I might go with a work day the next time to really grasp the chaos that is involved with a weekday as well. So here goes. A day in my life I woke up around 8:30 a.m. I know, I know. I'm spoiled. My husband usually gets up with the kids on the weekend. No particular reason other than he is more of a morning person than me. It takes me forever to wake up. And because he is a pretty great guy. We had a busy baseball day ahead. Cameron was playing 3 games in a baseball tournament. Jackson had his last fall ball game with the Mud Hens. I was going to catch 2 of Cam's games and then head over to Jack's game at 2pm. Cameron was going to stay with Pop Pop for the last game and meet us at home. Josh had already left with Cameron. He has to be there about an hour earlier to warm up. The first game was at 10:00. Jackson asked if he could have cereal while I was getting ready. So, of course, Bella asked for cereal, too. I asked Jackson to make Bella a bowl. Then came downstairs a few minutes later to get my clothes out of the dryer and saw this. These boys could not be better with this little girl. She was making a huge mess, and he was worried he gave her too much milk. The 12 “Life in Loud” founders would like to extend an invitation to other photographers to “join” our vision of inspiring and supporting artist photographers to shoot from their heart and for themselves. Block out the loud or rise above it, listen to your own intuition and make a photo just for you. One of the goals I am setting for myself is to let go of some of the pressure I put on myself to always take professional worthy photos of my family and kids. I have found myself criticizing the pictures of my children because they are blurry, the lighting isn't perfect, their hair is messed up or they're not wearing the right outfit. I want to get pictures of my kids doing the day-to-day, the mundane, the boring normal things that we do that makes us us. These are things I want to remember. Sure I still love to get photos of them dressed up in the perfect location to blow up for our walls. But I don't want to skimp on capturing them in real life because the picture isn't perfect. The reason I started taking pictures was to remember the little things. I thought about purchasing a point & shoot so I wouldn't have to carry around my camera (or having to whip it out and take a picture of them eating nuggets at Wendy's). Then I realized I didn't give my camera phone enough credit. So I've started taking more with it. And I've noticed that by doing this, I am getting myself in more photos as well. Another goal I'm working on. So this is my life in loud for the week. My living room on a Saturday morning. Taken with my phone. This is my reality. (And my kitchen. I had to take two because I don't have panoramic option on my phone. And you have to see the full picture to really grasp the chaos. Including the always present laundry in the background. )
Tonight Cameron and I got our hair did. I had to get mine colored and took him with me so he could get his trimmed up. He was so cute tonight. So well-behaved. I was afraid he would get bored since it takes over 2 hours to do my hair. But Shari put him to work sweeping up the hair in the salon. Surprisingly, it kept him occupied and I had to make him stop when it was time to leave. On the ride home, he looked at me and said "I like sweeping". ♡
I surprised this guy with lunch the other day. He was pretty happy. It's the first time I've ever had lunch with him at school. He was always jealous of the fact that I could meet Jackson. But he was still in kindergarten and didn't eat lunch at school. He didn't want me to leave until he went back to his class so I had to stand and wait in the hallway while he went on his bathroom break and lined up to head back. I saw him ask his teacher something and then he ran back to give me one last hug.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
