I love that you called me at work today to ask if you could go outside to play because "it looks warm outside". Schools were closed, probably prematurely, because it snowed the night before. I told you you couldn't play outside today until I got home from work and it was still too icy.
I asked you (and your brother, because I realized we have never really had this conversation) what you would do if you were home and the house caught on fire. You said "call the fire department?" You knew that meant to call 911. Then when I asked if you knew what to do if you ever caught on fire, you replied "blow it out?" Then when I asked what you would do if a stranger tried to break into the house, "ugh, do we have to do this right now?" I love that you came to me tonight with a wrinkled sheet of paper and a very proud smile on your face, "I forgot to show you this." It was a test from school that you had scored an "AP" on. You have been doing so well in school these past few months. We are so proud of you, and you are so proud of yourself. I love that your front teeth are all growing in at different lengths right now. You have the cutest grin. And the best dimples. I love that you played with your sister tonight. And by playing with her, you would literally "beam her" with a small rubber ball. I would yell at you to go easy, "she's only 3 and she's a girl". But she would laugh hysterically every time. I love that you came downstairs tonight dressed in basketball shorts, baseball socks, a dri-fit shirt and your coat to go outside in the garage and play pool with Daddy and Bryan. You are so much like your Daddy. (That's a good thing.) I told you I liked your shirt and you said "Honey got it for me. For Valentines Day." I love that you fell asleep on the couch shortly after with your coat still on. I took it off and covered you up. You never woke up. You are such a heavy sleeper.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
