A weekend away with the Jayhawks in D.C. We won the first three games. This was taken during a team huddle during the last game. We were losing big. They were tired and frustrated and discouraged.

To say this little girl loves strawberries is putting it mildly. You have never met anyone more excited about her first trip strawberry picking.
To start off my Mother's Day weekend, I decided this girl and I needed some mommy daughter alone time. She never gets that. And she doesn't mind, really. She loves to be around other people and loves tagging along to baseball and basketball games. She loves to be outdoors and spending time with family, especially her grandmothers. But it's rare that we are alone, except when we go the grocery store (which she actually loves doing). And even rarer that we're not rushing and I'm not yelling at her to hurry up or be quiet. She's all noise, repeating questions, "turn the radio up", attitude, drama, sass, and eating. She's always eating something. Except dinner. She didn't even know what a strawberry field was. All she knew was she got to pick strawberries and eat them. The morning of, it was raining. I tried to let her down gently, but she wasn't having it. She didn't care that it was raining. And she was so excited, it was breaking my heart. So we both put on old shoes and I grabbed an umbrella. We were going strawberry picking, rain or shine. The sun came out shortly before we got to the field. It was a sloppy, muddy mess. But she didn't care. And I didn't either. We picked strawberries, and snacked on a few in between. She ate more in the car, and when we got home. It was a short trip, but it was a good one. Strawberry picking will now be an annual tradition for these girls. |

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
