Between the two of them, the boys played 7 games this past weekend. The biggest problem - one was in Great Neck, the other in Suffolk. At opposite ends of the world. But we made it work. And I remained pretty calm. Considering it was hot, of course. And Jackson's 3:00 game got pushed back til 5:00 p.m. which meant we were stuck in Suffolk at the baseball field entertaining a two-year old who didn't get a nap and refuses to use the potty. Lucky for him, Cam's team had a pool party and he got to go with other kids from the team so he missed all that fun. We just sat around reapplying sun screen and drinking water and eating sunflower seeds. The life of a baseball family. On Saturday, the Pinto Red lost their first game to the Great Neck 7b team, whom we had previously beat, in the very last inning, We even tried the rally-cap. but we just couldn't pull it out in the end. The kids were so upset, most of them even cried. The Mustang Blue won their first game. Jackson had a great hit to the fence (almost went over!). That was a close slide into 2nd base. Connor had a few tag outs at third that were beautiful. The boys really needed this win.

Every year we have a combined celebration for Father's Day, & Eric', Josh and Grandaddy's birthdays. {166/365}: Love their relationship. {167/365}: Cameron hates to have his picture taken, which irks me to no end. I was just trying to get a picture of him and Jack playing the Playstation. I didn't ask him to stop or smile. He ran to hide behind the couch. I knew he had to look up sooner or later so he could see his game, so I waited patiently and caught him popping up. {168/365}: Cameron's first All Star game. We won, and fun was had by all. I love these genuine smiles. And I just love the fact that Cameron's tooth still hasn't grown in yet. He should be losing his other front tooth soon. {169/365}: My house these past few weeks. I've let go...a lot. Between games, practice, grocery shopping, work...there is no time to do it all. Laundry is out of control. Bella's toys are taking over. And all I can do is step back and take a picture of the mess. {170/365}: This was a fun win. Jack had another great hit to the fence! It almost went over!! {171/365}: We party like rock stars around here on Friday nights. We stay up late for Blue's Clues marathons. {172/365}: On Saturday, I only got to watch one of Cameron's games before I had to leave for Suffolk with Jackson for his double header. The game I saw they lost. Cameron cried when I left. Not sure if he was sad that I had to leave, sad about the loss (which he takes hard), or a little bit of both. In any case, he's still my baby.
Great first game for the Kempsville Red All Stars. Love these kids. Such a great group. Cameron hurt his knee diving for a ball. He was okay. Pop Pop thinks his pride was hurt more than anything. He sure is hard on himself. Who can resist that gap-toothed grin? (That's Aunt Jodi's hands clapping in my shot). We just needed one run going into the last inning to win the game. Matthew drove home the winning run. I was so happy for him. And apparently so was everyone else.
All Star season is upon us. And with two boys playing this year, it's going to be ..... interesting. This particular day we had Jackson's summer basketball game at 8 a.m. that morning at the field house. Followed by Cameron's baseball party for the Yankees. I left early with Jackson to take him to his first practice for All Stars. Josh met me up there after the party had ended, and I followed him to Cameron's practice at another field. Needless to say, when we all got home after 8 p.m., we were pretty exhausted. {159/365}: Coach Eric (attempting to) teach Jack how to bunt. First practice for Mustang Blue (10U). {160/365}: We had Monday night off. Having some fun in the pool. {161/365}: Favorite snack. Watching Game of Thrones. {162/365}: More practice. {163/365}: We're back at it with the rubber band bracelets. On the way to the dentist. Afterwards we shared breakfast at McDonald's before I dropped him off at school. Didn't you love those mornings when you got to go to school late? {164/365}: And still more practice. {165/365}: So proud of these 3 boys. They have known each other for years. We met Kristian on the basketball court and their friendship spread over into baseball.
We were driving home from baseball, and these two couldn't keep their hands off of each other. Bella would pinch Cameron, he'd pinch her back and make her cry. A few seconds later, she would pinch him again, and on it went. Until finally, I pulled over and made Cameron scoot over to separate them.
A few minutes later, all was quiet, and I glanced into the back seat and see this. Cameron says, "When we get home, can I help Bella with her writing?" |

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
