I took a lot of pictures this week. Easter kicked off Spring Break, which is sadly over as I type this. Choosing one picture of the week was tough; but I absolutely love this picture of my mom with 5 of her 6 grand babies.
Spring 11U season has started. It was not baseball weather., but baseball didn't care. This weekend kicked off our first tournament. We won 2, tied 1 and finished 1st in the Silver Bracket. Cam got to pitch and did very well.
This is his last year before he enters middle school and things really take off.
And Bella pretended she was the beach and built sand castles out of baseball clay with Lexi and Carter.
Where was Jack, you might ask?
At home, sleeping in and playing Fortnite, of course.
These guys did well this year. 3-way tie for first place. And had a lot of fun. For a bunch of "baseball dudes".
"Mom, take another picture! Mom, take a picture of me doing this!!"
It was a beautiful 78 degree day in mid February. Our day started off with Jackson's basketball game.
Bella & I went to Cam's baseball practice afterwards. Only because it was such a beautiful day. We don't get many >70 degree weather days in February. I took advantage to practice shooting. After taking some shots of practice, I followed Bella around the park for a bit.
I don't do many photo shoots with her. Mainly, because of lack of time. There is never enough time for us to do the things we need to do, much less the things we want to do. But, I need to make that time. Somewhere, somehow. She really enjoyed me following her around with my camera. And she was feeling herself.
We had another snow day. This was the night before when it had started snowing and we had just gotten the call that school was canceled the next day. Bella had already fallen asleep, so the 3 of us watched Hacksaw Ridge while Cam hung out upstairs.
School closed early in anticipation of the snow. It started to snow early, and Jackson thought it would be cool to play basketball in the snow. You can see the snow flurries in this one. (He doesn't like me taking pictures and was trying to hide his face).
There's something exciting about the anticipation of the first upcoming snow storm of the year. They were predicting > 10 inches. We got close to 13!! The worst part was that the temperature remained in the teen's for days turning the ice to snow and closing schools for one week!
The kids spent a lot of time outdoors, despite the frigid temps. They loved it. Cam even spent hours helping Josh shovel the driveway.
They even cleared a path for Jackson so he could still work on his shot. Except the bottom of the net had frozen the ball kept getting stuck.
Of course, it also meant lots of time indoors together. We had friends over. Played spades. Made lots of soup. Luckily, with our new vehicle, we were able to venture out a few times. We even made it to Three Amigos one night.
Even got to go visit our newest family member who was born during all this crazy mess.
Meet Miss Elliott. Bella is smitten, for sure. She's already asking when we can babysit her at our house.
As I write this, we have already missed 4 days of school and just received the call that schools will be closed tomorrow. Today, we took Jordan to the airport so he could head back to Colorado. We had a great visit and can't wait until May when he can return.
My name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, wine, video games, and bath time. I started this blog because I am passionate about photography and journaling, and because I wanted a place to write it all down, to rememeber little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
