What.A.Year. Looking over the photos, I can't believe how fast time has flown.
I remember thinking it would be fun to put Bella in dance. The boys are so busy with sports. She deserved her own thing, and she is such the entertainer. She loves to performing, dancing and music. It was so different for me, a mother of 2 boys. I felt out of place amongst the dance moms. But man, she was awesome. Despite being scared and crying the first few classes, she shone in our spotlight. Her recital made it all worthwhile. I just knew she would freeze on stage. But no (it helped that she couldn't see anything) she pulled through and I could not have been more proud of Beautiful Belle, onstage. She was truly breathtaking.
Once again, we had a great basketball season. For Jackson, he moved up, and it was quite intimidating with the older, much taller kids. They struggled. Especially Jackson, who had worked hard over the Fall and had high expectations for himself.
I was thankful that he was not discouraged. Not in the least. In fact, it pushed him to work harder. This kid proceeded to pour his heart and soul into basketball. He carried a basketball everywhere he went. Sometimes he was lucky enough to find a court.
Eventually he earned himself a spot on an AAU basketball team. We've just started, but I'm excited about the potential. Most importantly, I'm excited for Jackson and his ambition.
Cameron's basketball team took home the championship. And, did I mention they were undefeated? They were unstoppable. It was incredible. (from left to right: Jackson, Tyler, Trey, Kyle, Coach Chris, Russell, Alex, Colin, Jake, Coach Josh, Cameron, and Blake).
Bella had her very first visit with the dentist. Although, she did fantastic, it did not go so well. She had quite a "few" cavities, and ended up with a crown (yes, they put crowns in the mouths of 3 year olds). We had to stop buying juice in this house.
Seattle lost the Superbowl.
Cameron turned 8. He had another sleepover. There were a lot of little boys at my house. But, I think it was an unforgettable night for Cam, and that is all that matters.
Jackson turned 11. We celebrated at Paintball.
And this one turned four. Holy smokes!
We lost Coach Sam to an 18-month battle with colon cancer. Cameron took it really hard. So did Josh. It brought the Cannons family closer than ever. I'm thankful to Sam for that. And for all that he meant to Cameron.
Baseball season was busier than ever. Cameron's All Star team was undefeated (it was a trend this year). After winning here in the local tournament, we got to travel with the team to High Point, NC. Talk about memories. Not only did the kids have an unforgettable trip, the adults may have had more fun.
Our holidays this year....
His birthday. And Father's Day.
There were a few broken bones. Bella broke her wrist. And Jordan had to have a rod put in his lower leg which was complicated by compartment syndrome and resulted in a skin graft.
Cameron started third grade. Jackson started middle school!! And Bella started preschool. Whew, I'm getting old.
We got to visit Disney for the first time ever. Although it was a once in a lifetime trip...the Beach is still our favorite place to be.
Cam learned to boogey board. Bella is finally no longer afraid of the water. And Jackson can still sleep anywhere. Oh, and the newest game this year is low tide toss.
Before we knew it, Summer was over. And it was baseball time again! This season, Cam moved up to kid pitch (Mustang) and became obsessed with pitching.
We made memories with friends.
Cam got to see his idol, Lebron James, in person along with his best friend, Kyle.
We took our annual camping trip in Frisco, NC.
Two of my bestest girls. (Occasionally, rarely, I make it into a photo).
Thank God for selfie sticks.
We had a pretty eventful year. It was a good one, for sure. Lots of plans for 2016. Looking forward to my first, full summer off with the kids. (Hoping for some snow days before then).
To wrap things up, here is how we celebrated the end of 2015.
My name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
